Our Story

Meraki (may-rah-kee) is a Greek word that describes doing something with passion, purpose, and a piece of yourself.

Meraki Hospitality Group was born from Chef Chris Pappas' lifelong belief that hospitality is about far more than serving a meal. Raised in a family where restaurants were a way of life, Chris learned early that great food and genuine hospitality begin with hard work, generosity, and treating every guest like they matter. Those lessons became the foundation for everything that followed.

After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, Chris returned home to Northwest Indiana with a vision to build restaurants and experiences that reflected both his culinary training and the values he grew up with. Over time, that vision expanded beyond individual concepts into a hospitality group united by one purpose: creating places where exceptional food, memorable experiences, and strong communities come together.

Today, Meraki Hospitality Group includes distinctive restaurants, event venues, catering, mobile culinary experiences, and signature events. Each has its own personality, yet all are united by the same commitment to culinary excellence, exceptional hospitality, and purposeful stewardship. As Meraki continues to grow, our purpose remains the same: creating places that strengthen communities through food, hospitality, and meaningful connection.
